I know this has probably been asked before, but
could one of you Lincoln Cent collectors tell me
what you consider to be Semi-Keys and Keys in the series?
Thanks, SHAFTA9a

This is a GREAT website. It also has great photos and identification guides.

My experience has been that I've found several of the semi-keys (early teen s-mints) in large bags of wheats, but I was unable to find the 22-D (not considered a semi-key) until I bought a lot which I knew would contain it.

The 31-D is a low mint penny, but I've found a whole bunch of them pretty easily. I'm not sure why that one isn't hoarded like the other low mintage pennies.

I am glad you asked that question because I am in the learning stages and have been doing a lot of reading but haven't come across an explanation of that --so, because you asked --now I have learned. Thanks!
Also, I have come across several 31D's ,one 1909 VDB ( not an S!), and a 1921 in bags of pennies from the bank that I have been going thru. It doesn't take much to excite my coin collecting heart!

Thanks guys for the info, that really helps a lot.
I just picked up a 1911S and I would have thought
that it would have been a Key date?, but I guess it
is on account of the mintage.
i was also surprised that some of the other Lincolns I
have are also Semi-key
