I was putting some Presidential dollars into a frosted edge display and noticed that something didn't look right on this John Adams coin. The front looks fine, but the reverse looks like it's off center (shifted to the right). Is this a mint error? Is it worth anything more than $1?
Lastly, did this photo (scanned on a flat-bed scanner) work for you guys? In other words, should I have zoomed, cropped or done anything else to make it easier to see?
it's a very minor offcenter and it's perfectly within mint limits and in theory it is not worth more than $1 but you have your newbiw collectors on ebay that sometimes pay more than $1 for this coin but it is not worth more than $1 to a true error collector.
As noted already it is way to minor of an error. Actually a very common type on some coins in some years. However, for value if you did put it on ebay as an off center mint error coin you would more than likely get several dollars from some dummy.
