Yes blem1! @pocketchange I will dig some out this weekend and post some pictures. I like animals as does some of our other members but I am also drawn to "different" sometimes. Here are just a couple that are at my fingertips:

@ Coinfusion , thank you for the pics. I missed out on the colour wolf, I will need to add to my list. The Siamese cat coin is wonderful, which mint produced it. I cant pick a favorite, since they have different elements that are appealing. Years ago a lot of photos used to be posted. It gives people a chance to see coins they don't buy. In hand looks so different than stock photos. it makes the threads fun to read.

Thanks again for your post PC50.
I'm only buying X for X, and perhaps 1 of a kind.
The themes I prefer are NCLTs that are close to circulation coin designs.
Why? Not sure. Perhaps it is because I relate to them.

C_C just curious do you collect any US coins, they have some beautiful coins. You have the advantage collecting Canadian coins with USD. The exchange rate benefits the Americans currently, now I understand why there's so much Canadian coins south of the border. I didn't make the connection when I started. Even Mexican silver is probably a bargain for you. The nice thing is, this hobby is so customizable to individual tastes.

@pocketchange Thanks! The cat crowns are Isle of Man / Pobjoy Mint and the series started in 1988. Each year they depict a different breed of cats and the series is still going strong. This is my one and only coin "gift". A family member gave it to me a few years back as this one depicts out family pet. I have SO many NCLT coins but not much at posting pictures as I do not have a camera, just my phone. But I will try. Here are a few posts of a small sample of a few of mine: After the buffalo and the tiger came the snow leopard but I didn't get a picture of that one. I will later on tho. More to come. I have ALOT of these type coins.

I bought these at the FUN show in 2014 and 2015. Florida is my home state. I did not go this year so I don't know what the Florida animal was. I will have to see later on.

Not the best picture, and I did not keep this series up either but I did get this first coin. I love the newer 2 oz. and 3 oz. high relief coins. Wish I could pick up more of them but they are outside my normal price range.

@Coinfusion I am over your coins. The burning coins look much better than the illustrations I have seen. I can see the appeal. Those rimless high relief are stunning, so detailed. I would be proud to have those in my collection. The detailed rimless style is what I wish the RCM would do, more than, doing glass or crystals on coins. The details are gorgeous. Those coins use every inch to advantage. No wonder there was so much buzz on these selections. I doubt I would ever tire of these coins. They make most RCM pale in comparison. We need this kind of buzz back in Canadian coins!! I wonder if being constrained by needing to be a Canadian theme has much effect in what is produced. The special series in bullion coins is amazing. Coinfusion Thank you for indulging my photo request. You have a stunning collection.

I have decided to focus, focus, focus AND focus over the years and due to dropping PM spot prices and overpriced NCLT coins from Mints all over. A big focus for me is elephants. Therefore, Somalia elephant coins are my main big focus, (tho I have REALLY slowed down here)but there are other makers of really nice elephant coins, including the Benin series and the elephant silver ounces. From there I have a sub focus on neat looking african animals, such as rhinos, hippos, zebras, etc. I also like certain birds, turtles, and a few other animals. For the most part however, those are on a hold, due to again, the dropping PM spot prices. I also enjoy collecting items that have a connection with my state. I have enjoyed that the RCM has made that Lake Michigan coin (still stalking and holding out for a good price lol), I like the silver maples with the ANA chicago privy marks. Another focus I enjoy world sporting events. I enjoyed the last FIFA event and bought several FIFA coins from various world mints. I did the same with the Olympics. From there, it really narrows down. Again, a coin theme has to resonate with me. It has to be something I am interested in, something that is in my region, something I enjoy. I gotta say by narrowing down my coins with a theme, I am getting really good prices (when I do buy, last year I bought like 2 elephants coins, that was it) and I think my collection kicks butt by being very focused. I mean I have elephant coins, from various mints and having them side by side, the results are very satisfying for me. Now if we could some day get a resolution on gold prices so I could go wild on buying Somalian 1 oz elephant gold coins left and right that would be nice lol

Probably don't have much focus right now as there's lots of coins that appeal to me. I'm pretty much RCM NCLT for now (I have a few Perth Mint and I like some of the products coming out of NZ mint but being a bit of a newbie not sure which places are reliable (and not a ripoff) to deal with. I currently target coins by general themes such as militaria/world history, marine/aquatic life, maple leaves. I'm sure my focus will narrow down over time. As much of a flop as they seem to be I did like the North American sportfishing coins as I love fishing (as much as I can get out). There was a nice personal feel to these as I've caught all but the trout (missed out on a master angler pike by 1 stinkin' measly inch btw). Kinda feels like I'm getting a shiny/expensive scout badge for each species I land! The cost on them was IMHO too steep for me to pay for at issue price but I received one for father's day (bass) and one for Christmas (walleye/pickerel depending on your locale), and my birthday's right around the corner so here's hoping I can get that pike!

I collect enameled silver dollars. Not the $5, $20 or $100 ones. They are really well done and limited editions. Here is one
