I purchased thinking AU with a nice toned look for my Dansco but after thinking a bit with the historic weak strike at the New Orleans mint and my inability to tell the difference between weak strike and wear, I figured I'd turn it over to the experts at CCF to help me a bit and to learn more!

At first I thought it was overly cleaned, especially on the reverse, but the overall roughness of the design and that big pit above E in WE makes me suspect the coin may not be authentic. If it's real, it's been wiped/cleaned, low AU details.

The black on the back above the "we" is a mark and not a pit.

AU details, harshly cleaned; hairlines and pockets of toning that the cloth missed show the cleaning.

Nut uncommon for breast feathers to be worn down in an AU-53 or lower coin. Here's a 53 from PCGS photograde http://www.PCGS.com/images/photogra...rgan-53r.jpg
