The seller with 10+ Inukshuk coins:
finally 1 coin has been sold ...for CAD 56.65
I wish, he/she will cover the small loss by selling other Inukshuks for slightly higher, and forever will remember the lesson not to be greedy and not speculate on the coins (or anything else in the future).

I would say, that except of low numbers, the coin should involve some other significant factors. People should want it. And here....ok, gold plated - good, Inukshuk - good, poor design - bad, relativelly low price - good. So all above not enough the coin to be a hit. Even absolutely poor done 10K of Royal Mint Rabbit coins project some nostalgie and sentiments, that people ready to pay for this more than Cad 100. We all know, in such cases , people do not buy the coin, they do not care about the writer or some anniversary, but the pay big money for the piece of their childhood. |

Off topic, but your comment reminded me how many Coiin Shows include a children's auction or some other type of interesting reason to encourage people to bring along their children, grandchildren, neices, nephews, etc. Very smart on the part of the organizing team. The Inukshuk pairs along nicely with "Celebrating Canada", a $10 coin released last year.  But I wonder, how high the percentage of hot release buyers buy only new releases from RCM, motivated by the benefits of MC membership? I'd hope it's not the majority because I can see where that might generate an attitude that buying past releases equates to wasting money..... |

Remember the guy who had 10x the Inukshuk coins for $1299? I guess he sent it back to the Mint because all of his listings have gone from his ebay listings. He only sold one at an auction and it was at a loss. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/10X-2016-Can...AOSwwpdW~S72As for the coin itself, the prices have slipped quite a bit to the mid $60 range to the low $70's. For those hoping for a flip will be disappointed when eBay/Paypal fees are factored in since you will only break even or have a small loss. |

I recall noticing that sellers ebay listing was for 2 lots of 10. No purchase limits. 30-day full refund policy. No risk. = RCM super quick sell-outs, hype, energy, excitement! Considering the XforX program was one of customer acquisition, seems a logical next consideration to increase sales from that segment would be by offering an opportunity of quick profit through low mintage/low issue price releases. And so the world churns..... |

I remember I was shut out of this coin when I tried to order it from my rep and I was upset I missed it.
Now, I'm actually glad I have my $70 instead of the coin.

It was 59.95 at issue and I'm happy to have the coin in my collection. It's still as nice today as it was way back in 2016. But why is everything so often about financial appreciation? Free, albeit unrequested, advice; if you're into coins to make money, you should talk to a competent financial adviser to find a new wealth creation vehicle. Coins ain't it. I've never seen a single analyst telling clients to buy collector coins. Seems like a little  to me. |
