Hi Alvaro , answering your question, I always had hope as all collectors in finding the dream coin in the wild , we can't say it's impossible , but for a 1909-s vdb it's almost . If someone did please post here I decided not waiting any longer for 2 reasons: first because I budget for so I could finally aford it and I think 6 years trying was long enough for me Just sharing my oldest finds : 1889 nickel V 1898 cent ( Indian) 1910 wheat 1901 Barber dime1920 Canadian cent 1934 Liberty Walking half dollar . Hey but we never know when a kid will take some coins from his grandpa albums to buy candies right lol Thanks for the comments and good luck everybody !

Paola...I kept my 09 svdb in the slab as well. Too many fakes and I also think it will greatly reduce your resell value for this coin if you ever decided to resell. You may think you will never sell this coin but you just never know. You will be ready if you don't crack it out. Just my Two Cents... By the way.....Very nice example!

Yea I was thinking seriously about that , personally I voided to buy the raw ones when I was searching for cause was afraid of getting the fake ones ,so I decided I will tape the holder to the album as someone suggested here , not that I have intention of selling it but thats true , we never know ,thanks !

Very nice and congratulations! If it were mine I would crack it out, but it is not mine so you will have to make that call yourself.

Unlike 20 years ago, today you cannot collect coins worth more than $200 without buying slabs, in general. The collection is in your mind, not a binder. It will not be saleable outside of the slab, so why decrease it value?

I believe a user here found a 09-s vdb in circulation several years ago. Folks were skeptical but he provided screenshots of the coin and later the slab. I thought it came back "details" but I can't recall. I think he worked a cash register and found it in a roll. Maybe someone can find the old topic.

Thanks COTW, that's the thread I was referring to. I wasn't a member back then but I remember it coming up in a search I did. Truly goes to show you can find anything CRH. It's all about right place, right time. Highly doubt the 09-S VDB was in circulation long.. someone probably dumped it from a collection and that particular user was in the right place at the right time! Man - I have't CRH in about 5 months.. this makes me want to go get some rolls!
