Was wondering on this coin. A question I had was whether it was cleaned or not. If not it has a nice "luster" to it.

Thanks in advance!

From the scans I would have to say that it's had a little spa treatment, a nice rub-down. Still a nice low mintage, underappreciated coin to have!

Judging by only the photo, I would say it's had some kind of environmental exposure, and possible a gentle cleaning to restore the surface. Unless it's just the photo, it looks a bit darker than I'd expect for a 1909. A scope is the only way to really tell re cleaning. Going by Rick Snow's grading guide, I'd place it at least XF40, but since I can't totally make out detail on the ribbon and separation between the lower strands of hair, it might easily grade higher but I'm unsure.

I agree with XF40...and it looks like someone rubbed it with a cloth to clean it. At least is hasnt been chemically cleaned (aka "damaged"). It's a nice coin worth between 10 and 20 dollars, depending on who's buying it.
