Looks like a VF coin to me, and, despite the stain, a good buy at $20. A soaking and gentle swabbing with acetone might well remove the surface stain.

Thanks Exoguy, I have the 100% acetone here but first it's the
1950 rosie dime PCGS MS65FB from the
omaha bank hoard. Have a few other coins lined up.
But to have a CC in my collection will be amazing!

Yes, you're then buying into the history of the Comstock lode, ye olde west.

Looks good to me as well. I believe the reverse stain will come off, but be sure you know what you're doing before you try!

less blurred and larger clearer pics would assist greatly. its at least an F if not just crawling into VF but again, tough to see. I'm not convinced that stain releases off the surface

is it out of your budget to spend $80 to $100? There are multiple VF30 to grab for that price range. Enough that you can save $20 a month for 5 months and treat yourself around holiday time to a PCGS VF30 and have a few to look for your money and choose the best eye appeal to you. You're already $20 towards it.

Thank you for all the replies I think it I will play it safe and get the graded one, in 3 months I will get my bonus so then I can even look for a higher grade.
I am seeing a lot of mercs now pop up on the South African version of ebay, very affordable as well so I snap then up the "collectors" here buy graded mandela coins lol, for like $50-100 and it's normal circulation coins hehehe hehe
For $100 CRH you can get all of them not just one.
