I bought this coin about six months ago in a huge lot of coins that someone was getting rid of locally. I got it really cheap it was mixed with other coins that were less valuable. Wanted to know everyone's thoughts on what grading it would receive and approximate value. I have about 10 of these types of coins but this is by far in the best condition.

IMO, I see a cleaned AU-50 coin that I would pay up to around $120 for.

Strictly for circulation wear it makes it to AU-50. But it has had such evil cleaning that the value is significantly reduced.

Thank you all for your comments so far. I truly love this coin. it has the most detail of all the other Seated Liberty half dollars I have. Too bad it's been cleaned but at the price I paid I really don't mind.

Are these pictures IN or OUT of the plastic flip?

Would like some pictures out of the flip and just a touch more distance.

May or may not be cleaned. Any scratches or other discernible clues to cleaning?

If anything, the remaining black, is exactly where it should be for a circulated coin, especially from this time frame.

Looks like fairly severe environmental damage.

AU Details Harshly Cleaned.

Look under the eagle for a mintmark. On your coin there is an "S", which denotes the coin was made in San Francisco.

Yes. I left it inside the plastic when I took the picture.

I will take photos with it out of the plastic. I don't really see scratches that are a result of cleaning.

I think in the past this coin was completely dark/black.
Someone used something like Ezest/dip trying to make
it look better.

As much as I would want to say AU ...

Agree dipped but some of the reverse ED was just too embedded. Maybe worth $100-125 to someone.
