March 21 Edit: I may know what it is now after a search of hints but guessed too soon to get one in!

The correct answer is December 26! We have no winner, darn. Quess I made it took hard, not enough easy clues? Maasybe should have hinted "a holiday but not a holiday", Boxing Day, or Kwanza too. Oh well, here's the reasoning.
The clues "winter,er, winners" for the season. The "loose caboose" gets you to the end of both month and year! Now the circle and compass references...degrees of course! Both have 360°, a "complete circle", the 360th day of the year is, TADA! December 26, 1951! easiest way is to figure backwards by 5!
Check back in morning, will have message forall participants!

WOW...I was way off. Got your "winter" thing, after reading it a few times. Was thinking Jan 1st using the "circle" and "winter"(didn't see compass) clues...but the loose caboose thing made me second guess that. Thanks for the challenging and fun contest and Congrats on your 333rd post

Quote: The "loose caboose" gets you to the end of both month and year! And day...I just didn't connect the whole "caboose" and "end" deal.

A thanks to all the participants. Wonder if this is first contest that didn't give out all the prizes? I am going to do this, for all that guessed wrong, I'll send you a consolation prize! Nothing big, 3 RPM Lincoln cents. These are BU and circulated Memorials and/or Whearts (have only 5) that auction company returned...said not big enough sellers, two batches of coins went for $2.50/3 Memorial, $3.50 for 4 wheats. Not big sellers, huh? So for those that are interested, PM me and I'll mail out a set to you this week! Have a great day!

I got all caught up in the circle/upside down thing. Oh well. Fun contest. I'd love a consolation prize. I promise to give it a good home. PM on its way.

Sending PM now. Thanks for the contest, crazy! Your clues had me going in circles. I figured two radians in a circle, twelve hours in a circle. Circle = pi. I knew 360 degrees, but wrote that off because no months have 360 days, duh!

Again, thanks all for playing! Now, anybody have any ideas what I might do with this unissued prize? I have no Youth coin club that I'm aware of around here, maybe off in St. Louis or K.C., prefer a presentation to receipient, an interested noob. I've already put aside a set of Lincolns and Jeffersons for my grandkids who seem to care less, no interest, no knobs or screen to keep their teenage attention. Coins will go out tomorrow (I hope) to: Montcollector Buddy Spruett001 Druu Jovian Remember, still want you all too think about drumming up some coin collecting interest among those you know.

I usually give sets of Lincoln Cents to the new YNs in my local coin club. Sometimes it it full, sometimes it is half finished.

Thanks for the contest, Crazyb01. Please send any unclaimed prizes to coin197 or any other member that will give them to a YN group/organization.
