I don't think I have a single true Pre-Federal (as Numista calls them), nor I could plausibly afford one, anyway.

I do have some coins that might perhaps be considered colonial or post-colonial, but with one exception, all of those coins are either post-1850 Canadian or have Elizabeth II on them (or both).
The exception being a pre-confederation Canadian halfpenny token (from 1837, IIRC, but I'm not entirely sure), which is probably also not what the thread is looking for. And I misplaced it years ago anyway.

However, the coin below is probably the second closest thing I have to an actual colonial...

I'm not sure how easy it will be for anyone here to identify this coin; I barely managed to figure it out after buying it from a bargain bin a few months ago.
It is a very, very worn George III Hibernia halfpenny.

On Numista, I tentatively have it listed as 1769, but now that I actually googled more I suspect it is actually from the 1770s (or perhaps even the 1780s - but I think I can see a 7).
Had it ever circulated in the North American colonies? Maybe it did; maybe it didn't. (Probably not, but hard to say.) Other coins of the same type definitely did circulate there, however.

Sorry for the photo quality, by the way - still the same darn smartphone camera (and on the non-flash setting, at that, so I had to hold it steady).

That one is a beautiful coin @germanicvs--my best Colonial is quite similar. Here is my 1652 Massachusetts Shilling small planchet (Noe-25, Crosby 16-O; Bowers W-890). It is graded VF30 by PCGS and has a rarity level of URS-7, which corresponds to an estimated 33-64 pieces extant. My pics do not do this coin justice.

Special thanks to @moe for conceiving of this thread. I have had fun dredging through my collection, but especially enjoyed everyone else's eye candy each day.

Spence, thank you very much for your comment!
Your example is very appealing - very nicely detailed and obviously original, dark toning. A great, historical coin.

There is something very special about the Massachusetts silver coinage. I would like to add an Oak Tree sixpence next to my collection.

My favorite is this Fugio, I bought it after reading the Benjamin Franklin biography by Walter Isaacson.
