Will the LESPS sell out in under 5 minutes? I jokingly said the Congrats set would be gone in 60 seconds and I wasn't that far off. If there are only 50K of LESPS, I think there might be a big demand for these sets from the people who did not get the Congrats set. It will be interesting to see how it all unfolds. I'm glad I have the S- ASE already and don't have to worry about such things.

Good question. I don't think so, but then again I was completely wrong about the Congrats set.

Is this coin still a thing. Feels like ages ago!

Yup...still "a thing"...prices are weird but still decent. Yesterday two raw sets sold 15 minutes apart...one for $125 and one for $151.50 (?)
I've got some on their way back to me from NGC...fingers crossed

I have one that will never see the inside of a slab. It has what looks to be some kind of fingerprint or smudge of some kind on the obverse it two places. Ugly proof....
If I could figure out how to open the capsule I would try an acetone dip to see if it can be removed. I just got my OGP back from NGC so maybe I'll practice with those.
It would DEFINITELY be returned if it wasn't sold out
I can't image in the capsule. Reflections are an issue.

I took a look at ebay and it seems these have settled out in the $120 to $130 range. Assuming the 2017 LESPS will be released at $140, I can't see them going higher until/unless the 2017 LESPS are sold out. I went to what I'd say was a medium sized coin show yesterday. Interestingly, there was not a single 2017-S proof ASE in the whole place (unless a dealer wasn't displaying it). That seemed kind of odd to me. I did see three 1995-W proofs.

So the question is, depending on issue price, for those who need a 2017 S proof does it make sense just to pay the $125 for the Congrats set or pay $159+ for coins you might already have

Another thing to consider is what the eventual announced mintage of the LE PF set will do to the Congrats ASE price... If it is only 50k I predict a bounce in that coin price since I believe the price is being held captive by the Mint and their last minute decisions If it is announced in the 100k range then the price probably will hold where it is...more than that and who knows what will happen

I predict that if they announce over a 50k mintage of the LESPS, sales will actually be slower because people will believe the -S Proof ASE market will be negatively impacted. Then the question will be how many were produced?

At this point I am planning to purchase a LESPS to keep my ASE collection current. Given where the prices of the Congratulations Set are currently, this is the best move.

The thing that is crazy is the price going for the 2016 congratulations set ASE. People are paying more than a grand on it, even though the coin itself is no different, you just have a crappy cardboard folder that only sold less than 6,000. Suddenly, the 2016 Congratulations ASE is the new key! Crazy stuff, what a time to be alive.

Even the certified 2016 ASE's that are labeled as being from the Congratulations Set are selling at an premium. They're buying the coin holder and not the coin. I could pay that kind of money, but I'd never forgive myself for being so careless.

Holy crap I did not know that....I always treated that product as just another W in different packaging (which it most definitely is). Just proves the fact that, if you are buying for eventual sale, you can't ignore what someone else thinks is valuable. I would NEVER value this as unique but some obviously do. I should have learned from the 2006 Annie set though...same thing...2006 W from the set sells for 10 times what the same coin not from the set does. Same coin....10x....fact
