The obverse (right) cites the name of "Al-Nasir li-deen Allah Amir Al-Mu'mineen" (Victorius in the name of God's religion, the commander of the faithful), who was the 'Abbasid caliph at the time. Seljuqs and many other surrounding dynasties were loyal, and in some cases vassal states, of the Abbasid Caliphate. The reverse cites the Seljuq of Rum sultan "Al-Sultan Al-Ghalib Kaykaus Ibn Kaykhusraw" (The victorious Sultan, Kaykaus son of Kaykhusraw) Report this Post to the Staff
