So, what topic is worthy of a thousandth post?

I bought two of these for 1 British Pound (actually a gold sovereign) from my LCS. He didn't know what it was, I didn't know what it was, but I was ready to explore. Don't recall how I found what it was, but when I did, I found Stephen Album's auction pictures. Efforts to determine the date from pictures were unsuccessful.

I posted the first dinar (almost four years ago!), and Sap was gracious enough to tell me it was AH 119/AD 737.

So, what year is this dinar?

Congrats on hitting 1000, and on picking up a nice coin.

AH 169? I'm pretty sure about the hundred's and the one's digits, but the ten's digit is kinda hard for me to read. Hopefully @Sap can correct my Kufic.

year is AH 119 "tis' wa 'ashara wa mi'a" (nine and ten and one hundred), mint isn't mentioned on these but most likely is Dimashq (Damascus), the capital of the caliphate
