1964 Kennedy Proof "accented Hair" Variety

KurtS Pillar of the Community United States 5318 Posts	Posted 04/11/2008 12:40 am I went to a show today, and ran across this variety. Apparently this coin was a short run of the first obverse die for the Kennedy proof half. The markers are in the hair above the ear and the lower-left truncated serif on the I in LIBERTY. One source puts the population between 40,000-120,000 pieces, but I haven't seen that confirmed elsewhere. Still fun to find! Edited by KurtS 04/11/2008 01:17 am Report this Post to the Staff

She wanted him to look "different, so she had the hair-fresser comb it that way, I believe this was posted on CONECA, possibly in "Variety vista".
