John, a lot of this sells out because of the dealer networks (Canada Post). One Crown Corp buying from another to create demand.
Rest in Peace

Why don't you guys just get the Hot Wheels version for $3, rather than spending $1000 on this "coin"?

What fun would that be telling your wife you bought a $3 nick-nack....Should I tell her every time I buy a cup of coffee?

Now...telling her you dropped over a grand on a chunk of metal worth 1/10 of that.....that where the excitement of marriage begins.

My small kid likes CAD 4 Hot Wheels version of the Star Wars space ships....
The older prefers lego CAD 100 variants of the same
So probably CAD 1000 this is the "adult version"

If anyone wants one of these for a small discount, Gatewest Coins has it for a 5% VIP discount - as savings of $60.
Phone call only though.

Today is public release day for this coin and it is interesting to see where it goes. Some dealers like The Coin Shoppe and CC&C are already sold out.

This has to be about the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. Nevertheless, it would be a lot of fun to make a movie following someone around while they try to spend it. Yes, I know the silver value is more, but I can hardly imagine the look on a cashiers face in the supermarket when you try to use this to buy a loaf of bread.

Susuman, ROFL! I'd like to go to the Canada Revenue Agency and fly this thing across the counter to pay my HST!

Clerk: "That'll be $100"
Me: "swooooosh. vroooom. Requesting permission to deposit. Vrooooom."

All of the dealers have this coin. Besides Canada Post, Colonial Aces, West Edmonton Coins, London Coin Center, etc. You name it, almost all have it. Selling status at the RCM is meaningless.

We should see it on the Coin Show at the Shopping Channel this week.
Rest in Peace
