It looks like Die Deterioration and someone melted that L but I'm new the different color of the L makes me think this but the rest looks like an old die

The reverse is suffering die stress, an overused die. Deterioration, edge separations, polishing and filling of devices, just plumb wore out thousand coins ago! The L being close to rim is a design anomoly coupled with late stage die flow moving outwards. The bar is just contact damage.
