2005-P Jefferson Nickel Gouge? - Coin Community Forum

Stafordshire New Member United States 11 Posts	Posted 01/03/2018 02:00 am Hi, Looking to see if anyone has seen this same damage on another 2005P obverse Jefferson nickel? I'm not so interested in coins with die cracks or gouges but I came across this nickel 6 months ago in pocket change and havent been able to find anything on it. Could it posibly be damage after it left the mint? I'm sure its just a fluke, but since I held onto it I thought id take a shot on here to see if anyone recognizes the gouge on jeffersons head through his eye and end of nose. Appreciate anything you can tell me from the picture. Report this Post to the Staff
