95% Copper Pennies

I do rolls not boxes but I have been getting about 25% copper. Many people don't bother with the 1982's but my experience has been about 75% of them are copper so my 25% includes the copper 82's. I have not tried to sell mine so I can't address that part of your question. I will say, I sort about 50 rolls a day and the last 2 weeks I am seeing less copper and definitely less good grade copper coins.

Yup! Double your money, a penny at a time.

A couple of comments.
1. 2 cents is about as good as you're going to get and some auctions on e-bay end up with the seller getting less than 1 1/2 cents per penny.
2. To make any kind of "money", consider the number of coins you'll have to go through. To make $100, you'll need $100 face in copper pennies (to sell at $200 hopefully). Based on the percentages sited above, that's about $500 face unsorted (on a good day). That's 50,000 pennies (1000 rolls) you'll have to sort through to "make" $100..... There's gotta be a better way :)

There are actually some benefits if you do it little by little (on rainy days or after a trip to the bank with a couple rolls in tow...)

I enjoy separating them and then of course, you get to go through the '82's to see which is which.
I usually don't look for varieties, errors, etc. I just roll them up when I get 50 and put them in a box. My NEXT project is to take each of those rolls and slowly go through and look for interesting stuff.
So I get TWICE the bang for the buck!
