Please specify what year cent you have. It could possibly been a grease filled device or circulation wear.

Slight contact on the NW side of the device. If the date show the same thing, then it is Machine Doubling. (which pretty sure this is) Not a RPM. Just a normal coin. Year/denomination would also help with this information. (appear to be a cent?)

To the CCF
In your headings, always include the year and denomination
of the coin in question for future reference.
It also helps if you include a full picture of both the
Obverse and Reverse. Sometimes there is information on the
rest of the coin that can help with any questions you have.

Ok I thought the year and the coin would put you off but here goes. It's a 1944 steel cent. With the 's' mint mark. I have done extensive research only to find I can't make my mind up if it's real or not.

Check if the coin sticks to a magnet - if it doesn't, it's plated and worth only FV as plating is PMD

It's a 1944 steel cent.

Highly unlikely, but lets see some full coin pictures of the front and back.

To CCF! If you can get more pictures, including the full obverse and reverse side, that would help.

Looks like a plated 44-S cent. See if it sticks to a magnet.

it does stick, one of the most common tests advertised on the net, also brought a coin scale 2.85 grams.

ok, why haven't I just sent it to NGC or PCGS you may ask. I can't afford to pay the 1% if its real, I'm in new zealand and have very limited resources for US coins.
