Same here!

However, I think that my 1909-S LHC is poised to overtake it once the 2009 LHC hype kicks in!

Yes, the 1909-S is the highest value LHC I have... for now.
Rest in Peace

This comes up periodically. My most valuable coin is actually many. In fact about 30 or 40 rolls of 1943 Lincoln Cents in fine to MS grades. The reason is when I was a kid my Dad started giving me those since they just came out. I saved every one he gave me and that started me on coins well over 60 years ago. He is gone now but I'm sure he would be proud of the fact I still have all of them. Can't be those for value with anything.
I have well over 100 Whitman Classic Albums almost all filled and they are no where near as valuable as those Steel coins to me.

I like the title of the thread, but you forgot "with your
name, address, work schedule, and where you hide the key."

My most valuable is the 2008 ASE with Rev of 2007 that the
mint sent me this spring. Wasn't that nice of them!

Vermontensium

That's a great 18/17-D -- clear date and clean for its grade. What a tremendous purchase.

My most valuable (at least as to what would bring the most if I ever sold it, God forbid) is likely a 1913S Type II Buffalo nickel that is in a NGC MS66 holder. The most valuable to me though is the 1913D Type II Buffalo that was given to me by my grandmother. It's probably a VF and I doubt I will ever get it slabbed but I was sure proud of it when she gave it to me.

As for pictures, well someday when I get around to learning how, I will post them as I certainly benefit from everyone else's photo taking on this site.

I did okay on that purchase. The couple on ebay selling it, needed the money and were not sure if it was an 18/7. The item description offered a 15-day return if not satisfied. Turns out, people were sceptical of the authenticity or weather it was an overdate or not. RETURN, to make a long story short, no one really bid on it. But I did!

2006 Gold Buffalo's and Gold Eagle.......'07 Gold Eagle
But, I'm much more impressed with "Classic" coinage and not "Ultra Modern Coinage"......so, I'll be moving in THAT direction very soon !
But, so, sadly, those are my most expensive coins to date.

But having a lot of coins from my Father, my Grandparents, and my Great-Grandparents......I agree with Metalman's post about "real" value. That's not always judged in "money" terms and I have many coins (and paper currency) that fall in that catagory.
