Came across this coin and was wondering if this was a lamination error or damage after it left the mint. I took a few different angles with the lightning and the way it shows ... thanks

No, it's been damaged after it left the U.S. Mint. Lamination errors aren't even possible on the new Nickels I think.

Looks like a cars cup holder coin. Nickels are 75% nickel and 25% copper so why not a mix error causing a LAM? Just to be clear,op coin is environmental damage.
