Odd Dime And Odd Dollar - Coin Community Forum

3wheels New Member United States 42 Posts	Posted 09/18/2019 3:52 pm I'm going through bags and containers of coins that have been sitting around our house. I did find a 1945 War Nickel and a 1943 British half penny, which I will likely need help figuring out, but I also found 2 odd colored coins and could use a little help. One is a dime that looks like it's from 2006 and the other is a Sacagawea dollar. Both are brown. The dime is dark brown on one side and looks platinum on the other. The dollar coin is almost the collar of a penny. It could be nothing, but am curious and could use a little help. I'm wondering if there is these are errors. Report this Post to the Staff

I've pulled tens of thousands of coins out of the ground from all types of soil and that's not what happens when they are buried. Plain old environmental damage, most likely a cup holder baby. I've never heard of an amphibian detector addict Really, though, it drives me a bit nuts every time some colored coin comes up and someone thinks it's a detector find.
