Poll Question
Hello everyone, I like to know from the pros what kind of grades I can get on this Jefferson nickel from my mint set before I send it for grading... the scratches on pictures are only at the plastic...thank you in advance.     *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

There seems to be a rather large hit on obverse to the left of Liberty . MS-67 possible FS .  |

As I'm sure you already know, a MS67FS 1964 Jefferson is stratospheric level stuff. It may well be a 67 (definitely looks FS), but you're entering market grading territory and the TPGs are very stingy at those grades. I'd probably take a chance with it, but don't be surprised if it comes back at 65. I have a couple of early to mid-60's coins that I think could hit those big numbers, but I'm reluctant to send in because I realize that the grading companies don't want to upset the big money apple cart, and I'm a numismatic nobody. As for FS, I think it'll qualify.
As for grade I don't think it'll grade above 65-66 unless the ding to the left of LIB... is on the cover which it doesn't look that way.

Update pictures without plastic...this coin is very clean as you can see.

To much light or flash ...coin looks to shiny like proof coin? To me is to good to be true how clean is this Jefferson nickel. I will update photos again tomorrow daytime no flash or lights. |

After doing a lot of research about this coin I find out is a proof coin just from the clear plastic set the mint set comes in a plastic set but with a blue stripe and the Denver's one comes in clear plastic with red stripe .Hello...

So, this was a proof nickel in a business strike mint set? That's an interesting error. Too bad you removed it from the plastic.
