I agree, this is probably one of the best hobbies (unless you over-payed) for getting a return on your investment if it comes down to it. If you buy something low and hold on to it, itll keep its value to an extent, especially PM. At least she didn't yell at you! Thats always a win

I agree, the vast majority of what I picked up wasn't expensive (well maybe 1 or 2) and if I sell everything including the 2 Reverse Proof ASE I picked up, I'm probably ahead of the curve. Most of the key dates (like the 16d, 1877 and WLH 21 and 21d) I picked up locally and at great prices, so I think on those I'll be ok. In the end buy what you like at a fair price and you should be good. Quote: At least she didn't yell at you! That's a fair point, buying locally is a bit difficult for me but I manage. I hope it doesn't come down to it for either of us, or anybody for that matter. Having to sell off a collection that's had love and work put into it is never fun.

I got the coin really late as our Mail was late. Lots of people out at USPS and being on the East coast Covid19, has hit us pretty us hard.
It's super nice has some red. I'll post pictures tomorrow.

Hey all, so for all my collections, I want an MS coin for each type. For large cents, I wanted a Victoria cent, and while I wanted a young queen, they were over my budget, so I picked up an older queen. I guess with this I will close out the large cents. I may (if I find it locally) get an 1891 small leaves, but there is very little interest in that right now. Thanks for following my journey into large cents.

Looks great! Shame about the carbon spot on the reverse, but still an awesome coin!

Quote: Shame about the carbon spot on the reverse Its much more noticeable in the picture as I added contrast, its barely noticeable on the coin. One thing I don't like about ebay is that you can't look at the coin at hand, and photos are somewhat deceiving, but I still like it. Its 119 years old, most of us won't look that good at 119
