Just going through some nickels and ran into this. Looks like a Double Die but still new to all this. please help.

Just Die Deterioration Doubling. I suggest using variety vista or Weller's die varieties if you're hunting for DDs. It will save you time looking for varieties that aren't known to exist (which for a coin this old typically means no significant variety does exist).
