This one was a bit of a surprise, I found in a bank bag a few days ago. When I picked it up out of the pile I thought it was a foreign coin until I held it up to the loupe.

Very nice find for a bank bag! Amazing, actually.
Grade looks about VG. If you can post a pic of the whole obverse legend, I'll look for varieties.

So I took a closer look at some details around the eagle's head and suspect this is a DDO, since the eye is a good diagnostic, and the U in UNITED looks a bit thickened, and in the same direction as the eye. If you post the whole legend, I might be able to narrow down a Snow #.

yep, a DDO...I'm certain of it. the D and S are classic markers; I'll retrieve the Snow # later on. Coin looks a bit more worn than VG, but still a fantastic find!

Yours is the1857 S14 Doubled die obverse. DDO-010. The D in UNITED and S in STATES are strongly doubled on this variety. You can still see the doubling on the lower part of the S and the thickened middle stroke. Yours is an earlier die state because these letters disintegrated in later die life.

An enhancement of your pic to bring out the doubling:

Thanks for taking the time to look it up Kurts. Is this coin worth slabbing,I saw in the Cherry Pickers Guide that ICG will slab it with the snow #.

It's your call on slabbing, although if you were to sell this one, variety collectors should be able to decide on coin details alone.
If you did send it in, I would hope the grader would pick up on the same details I did, but my attribution here is simply my amateur opinion--although I think it's right
