$40. This coin appears to have a small lamination or planchet flaw near the date. In addition, the reverse on either side of the mintmart, there appears to be some clashing that shows letters. I think UNITED and another word are showing on both sides of the mintmark. Mintmark also looks like it wasn't punched cleanly. Thoughts on grade and possible errors? Thanks!

A closer look at the possible errors.

Does it look like a face carved inside the lamination loss?

Areas where I see clashed lettering and mintmark repunching errors

Am I seeing further clashing or die cracks here?

AU-Details, cleaned.

Die crack on the reverse through FIVE CENTS, lamination peel on the date. Not sure about the possible clash.

XF-40 details, looks like cleaning hairlines on both the obverse and reverse. Agree with the lam and a small die crack, but I'm not sure what a clash in that location would correspond to.

High AU to low MS.

I see clashing between the mound and the Buffalo's belly, too!

Interesting coin but ......

Agreed, just can't match up any obverse devices that match.

Also, no RPM, just DDD

VLDS obverse and LDS reverse, heavily die clashed and die polished. Average strike. Cleaned.

The clashing near the mm is with the top of the Indian's hair. That particular clash seems to be confined to the Type One reverse. (On the Type Two reverse, there is a different clash, between the ground level and the part in the hair.)

The other die clashes and polishing are readily apparent on this coin. The second feather / buffalo's head clash has left the spiked head, despite significant die polishing. The "LIB" of LIBERTY / right rear leg clash resulted in polishing that almost obliterated the "B" and left deep polishing marks on the reverse and an exceptionally weak right rear leg.

Balancing the die state and strike, I'm at AU Details, cleaned.
