Hmmmm! Seems that there is extra thickness on the date, which could be attribute as a doubled die. I would have either Chuck Daughtrey or Bob Piazza weigh in on this one. From the pictures it looks like a class VI doubled die to me.

I agree that it could be a Class VI DDO but I am always hesitant to say for sure when the coin has a reasonable amount of wear. What does LIBERTY look like?

Thickness is most apparent on the 19 but was Bill mentioned it's not clear if it's from wear or if it's a DD.

Bill hit the problem with this coin...sometimes abusive wear on a coin can knock the digits down to make them look extra thick. Thickness is the key diagnostic for class 6 doubled dies, which this appears to be - at a glance. It would have to be examined further to tell for sure.

The first thing to look for to tell whether this is just reall abusive wear or whether it's a doubled die is LIBERTY. If the left edges of the letters I, B, and/or E are convex (curved inward) then you probably have a doubled die.

If the lower bar of the E of WE is curved sharply upward at the end, you probably have a doubled die.

If neither of these are true, you probably have a worn coin and nothing else.
