1937 Lincoln Wheat Error Penny - Lamination Error Reverse?

Rosalita Valued Member United States 96 Posts	Posted 01/31/2021 12:08 pm Hi guys, I have this 1937 Lincoln Wheat penny and would like to find out if this is considered a lamination error on the reverse? If so, how does this occur? I see the parts of the letters "E" and "N" still visible below the metal that is messed up. Report this Post to the Staff

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 01/31/2021 1:06 pm Looks like a Lamination error. I checked to see if the cheek was opposite that area, (as it looked flattened) but is not opposite that area: ('STATES' opposite the cheek area) Report this Post to the Staff

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 02/01/2021 6:21 pm If it were pre strike, the devices would be fully formed. The lamination/debris fell off the coin, post strike, leaving the ghost images on that area. Report this Post to the Staff
