Hi All,

I am considering selling my following complete/near complete sets:

1) Liberty nickel
2) Mercury dime
3) Walkers
4) Barber Half
5) Franklin half

It seems to me that ebay has slowed down - perhaps fewer buyers given the economy and hesitant sellers as myself. Any thoughts on where one can get a fair value?

Thanks,

Zohar

If you had a price you knew you wanted for them you could offer them here. If nobody bites your not out anything. Right? I am not sure how the other auction sites work. Heritage superior teletrade. Just a thought.

Problem is accessing a fair price. I posted things on forum a while back with limited success. These collections are in the VF/XF range and therefore do not fit an auction house inventory. I have one dealer here in NYC who I do not have a good experience selling to (gave very low offers).

This is really not a good time to sell coins. Dealers at coin shows tell me people are coming to them in droves attempting to sell collections, loose coins, proof sets, etc. There are numerous people out of work and in need of money so coins have to go. Dealers know this and are offering rock bottom prices for those coins.
Naturally those same dealers have not lowered their selling prices accordingly. The same thing is happening at Pawn shops, gun shows, knife shows, etc. around me.
This is just not a good time to try to sell coins or other collections.

Thank you. I sense the same. Will hold. As you have indicated I have yet to see market (retail) prices drop.
