So are they aluminum? I'm too lazy to pull out Krause, but I have a 50k FAO coin that's made out of the metal.

Nice coins But this denomination is nothing beside coins from The Weimar Republic (especially from Westphalia - eg. this one)

wd1040 not aluminum feels more like CuNi but could have aluminum in the mix.
DagonX True enough but I can't put a set of those together for $10.00 either.

Westphalia Even finding these in decent condition is usually a challenge.

The Westphalian pieces were never used as notgeld though. They were basically fundraisers. But for collectors, the word "Billion" (a German Billion is a US trillion) on a coin may well be appealing.

And yes, those Turkish pieces are CuNi. At that time, shortly before the Jan-2005 currency reform, they even had silver commems with a face value of 20,000,000 (old) lira ...
