This doesn't look like 001 but it does look like an Over Mark. Location looks similar. VLDS and Die Deterioration contributing to a dramatic look? I also see what looks like a secondary D mark to the east of D. Just PMD? Weighs 3.08 grams. Looking for opinions on this, thanks.

Thanks CentSation, in the MDS and LDS examples you can see the beginning separation in the lower east portion of the S.

I like your find. There's a lot going on with the MM and I see the hook coming off the bottom right of the primary MM.
Nice input from Centsation with the overlay and assessment.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.

The hook coming off the bottom of the primary sure looks like the curve from a punch, but maybe it's just another S punch or maybe a die scratch. It is strange. I would think that in 75 years someone would have discovered something this big. So I'm going to say one of a kind damage.

There is a lot of circulation flattening and damage (blow) to the mintmark. I need to be convinced more on this one. Coop? Pete?  |

Wholly damage imo. If it were the OMM, you should still be able to see the vertical bar of the D above the lower serif.

I am going to have to agree with the last few posts. As neat as it looks, this Wheatie has had a rough life. I'm not sure how anyone could tell if this was even close to being an OMM due to its condition. Believe me, I would love to see one. I think we could beat on this one for weeks but I just don't see how one could say definitively that this is an OMM. Just MHO here.

Here's another angle and side by side. There is a visible vertical bar Tanman, its just angled different.  From this counter clockwise rotated orientation of the "D", the hook to the east looks more in line to be a rpm as well. IMO Edited by CoinHI

Note around the date devices, there is a lot of questionable marks on that upper areas of the digits? If this were a die error, there would be almost a million of these out there in better condition. I would mark it for now to save to a while. Probably a normal examples of this coin are out there. But to me it is questionable. The mark to the east on the field could be a die scratch. So until more examples of this die are found, I question this one.
