2008 D Andrew Jackson Dollar Coin Possible Doubled Die Reverse / DDR

MendoMomma New Member United States 6 Posts	Posted 10/10/2021 3:26 pm Hello Coin Community, I have a 2008 D Andrew Jackson Dollar coin that appears to have doubling on the reverse. I notice the doubling taking place on the U and the N of United States on the reverse of the coin. It is the only doubling I see. Everything else seems to be accurate. Did I find my first DD? coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 10/10/2021 3:33 pm That is called Machine Doubling. After the strike the die movement altered those areas. This is not a doubled die, but a rogue movement that damage those devices. On a doubled die the spread is seen on the centers of the devices. Machine Doubling alters the inside/outside edges of the devices. This is common. This can also happen to doubled dies as well.
