A Mint State Eighteenth Century French Copper

Paul Bulgerin Pillar of the Community United States 3098 Posts	Posted 11/24/2021 6:12 pm Today's mail brought this new coin for my collection. It is a French 1774-W Liard which has been graded MS-62 "Brown" by NGC. It is a very nice example, struck during the reign of Louis XV. This is the fourth mint state eighteenth century European coin that I have purchased for my collection. As always, I wish I knew the story of how and why it was saved nearly 250 years ago. sel_69l Bedrock of the Community Australia 21788 Posts	Posted 11/24/2021 11:19 pm I am not so sure about the MS-62 grade, but in the (lower) grade that I see, it is still a rare coin anyway, and in fact, the best I have seen for this type.
