Trying to get a straight answer reading the forums and ebay... I have a Canon G10 (point-n=shoot with some advanced capabilities and pretty good macro straight out of camera). Have people added the 250D/500D from canon filter? Or the Hoya add-on? I know others have successfully used an additional filter like this to get even closer.

Comments/suggestion appreciated. Thank you.

For instance, the below is a photo I took of this 8 Reale coin. I believe the photo is not as sharp as it should be and does not do justice to the coin, which I do NOT want to have to write/explain over and over. What options are there for better/sharper results? (And any comments on this photo--how could it be better?)

Photo below with G10, macro mode, about 6 inches from coin, incandescent room lighting with a small LED light diffused approximately overhead. Maybe the result is not so bad? Comments, please.

I used the Canon 500D when I had my Canon S2. I really like it with that camera. Here is a sample with the S2 using the 500D add-on.
