Coin Mis-Alignment In PCGS Slab - Coin Community Forum

TimNH Valued Member United States 417 Posts	Posted 09/01/2022 11:40 pm I came across this coin perusing an upcoming auction, looks nice and possibly in my price range, but what is up with the alignment? That would drive me bonkers. I have seen poorly aligned coins in slabs before but nothing like this. Any thoughts, how does this happen, and would you send it back in for a re-rotation? 91o_collector Valued Member United States 122 Posts	Posted 09/02/2022 12:58 am Got a shipment back from ANACS once that had about half of the dozen or so coins misaligned in the holder. Was told any gentle shaking during shipment can cause it. The one that really bothered me was the Morgan I had sent in for the rotated reverse designation. The misalignment made it difficult to tell it was a rotated strike. Was able to realign most of them with gentle tapping on the edge of the holders. Report this Post to the Staff
