I don't usually go through 1960 bu rolls, but figured I'd check a couple as there are a fair number of things to find. The one roll had a couple of these DDRs in it so it was worth the time. And always good to post something rather different than the strong obverse dies that are most commonly posted here. Note that this is die stage B, with a large date obverse. The stage A has a small date obverse. 1960 Lincoln Memorial cent doubled die - DDR-007 Edited by tropicalbats 10/10/2022 02:57 am

Always nice to find even a smaller DD in a bu roll. The exciting part is the anticipation that follows while flipping all the rest !

Thanks folks! I doubt the memorial DDRs are searched for very hard so probably lots still out there. But they do get tough to see pretty quickly as the coin circulates.

Is that a hairline die crack on the obverse--from the rim (after the D in GOD), entering Abe's scalp?

Great find, one of my bucket list items to find FG doubling on circulated coins.

ijn, missed your question earlier. Yes, the coin is an unlisted Spike Head. I put one in my giant pile of unlisted stuff so maybe someday it'll get done up and listed. But with Cuds-on-coins on hiatus right now that pile won't be getting any smaller. And as a side note, once I picked out the DDR in the roll I actually found it easier to surf the rest of the roll looking for that Spike Head instead of trying to see more of that tough DDR doubling. Also spotted that Spike in another roll from the say big buy and found a couple more of the DDRs that way. Makes for a dandy die marker.
