Nice clash. I've always liked collar clashes.

Thanks Dearborn. I think this may be the first die variety on a W unless I've missed something. Although minor I think this should be graded. I wonder if maddieclashes would attribute this being that it's a W

When you say "should be graded" not TPG worthy IMHO. It is neat but not worth the costs. John1

I have a dime that looks like that and I mean you can see the read edges from the obverse side of the coin is that how you determined it to be a collar clash will post it some day when I'm better at taking pictures

Thanks John1 and 16609. Seems minor but it's more of a major discovery because there are no other varieties on any of the W quarters. So besides errors which there are not many on the Ws there was no variety to look for until now. That means that this is the first W variety coin and worthy of encapsulation. If anyone has any contradictory information please correct me where I'm wrong

@16609 Sounds like you have a collar clash on that dime. As far as pictures go I found that the only time I get good pictures is in the daylight. I took these last night that's why they look so bad. I'm about to take more in a few minutes

Collar clashes on domes are fairly common. I have a few myself. The Dime is such a small coin, so getting the alignment on these is extremely difficult. In fact, almost every dime I have seen out there is either a slight MAD or off-center. If I manage to find a dime that is perfectly centered on both sides, THAT would be the rare coin I would send in for grading (I'm kidding on that part of course). I'm in the process of upgrading my Dansco Dime Album for Roosevelt dimes to BU to circulated condition. I have taken up close images of every dime I had in my album (circulated and proof) to my new BU ones and I would have to say that about 90% of them are MADs. I think having a collar clash on a quarter is far more rare to find

Thanks Dearborn. You have an awesome collection. I'm not sure how rare collar clashes are but this is a rare new variety we will all be searching for. Besides struck through errors there is nothing else to look for on any of the 10 W quarters. I can remember only 1 or 2 one off errors in the series. Correct me if I'm wrong
