I inherited a 1923 Peace dollar key chan. My concern is ? Is it real or fake? It is not magnetic. Is their another way to tell? The weight is distorted because of the holder. Any suggestions? Thank you.

@rke, looks to me like you might be able to twist the ridged ball at the top of the encasement to remove it. That would let you get an accurate weight and you should be able to easily re-encase the coin if you want.

.. and during the re-encasement you can possibly rotate the coin so it is straight as well.

But it looks authentic to me, but I'm not that much of an expert on these.. (it's a wheelhouse thing)

Thanks for your help. I was able to remove the neckles holder and weight the coin. 26.67 grams. I also took better pictures. Any idea on grade or value? Would you have it graded?
