If a portion of the die is just missing, there would be nothing to hold down the metal - The rim is still intact for the most part, and no weakness on the obverse in the same area. Dowhat Pillar of the Community United States 877 Posts	Posted 02/26/2023 2:25 pm Thanks for the feedback Rob411. I guess my terminology is off, but instead early stage, I should have said pre-cud. I am providing some close up images here that may help. It appears the initial break in the die occurred away from the rim and progressed from there on subsequent strikes. In the mean time, can I get a link to your reference? Thanks for the opinions Clearly the rim is detaching at about 3k and progression moves south. Yet the interior most progression seems to stabilize not beyond the centerline of the wheat kernels as in COC listing earlier stated. Report this Post to the Staff

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 02/27/2023 12:45 pm Now that is a match. Rotation of coins makes it harder to match them up with. I find place a 100 Pixel line on an image to see if the devices are level helps. If not, erase and rotate to fix the issue on you photo editing program. When you have both level, then you can use the sizes to tell if they are a match or not. No corners on coins, so you have to make them level with the bottoms of the longest rows of devices. Each side of the coin needs to be leveled as they can be out of alignment of the dies on the machines. Report this Post to the Staff
