3.1 grams
1935 S Penny dd S over S or maybe a S over D I can't tell but I would have to see the back of the S where the crud is. I don't know!!

As one can see it is a dd on the mint mark unless anyone can tell me something different. I could not find out much information on this type of dd and if the coin is not much value I would like to clean it up. I have kinda read that mint marks are punched by, I wanna say workers so maybe this is a common dd occurrence.

With that being said how or what does one do to clean/preserve the coin up or is it just better to leave all the crud and crap on the coins. I know you can send it away and have it cleaned but only for very valuable coins.

Just wanted to say I don't know if it is a dd or double punch as I don't know all the terms exactly as I am still learning but seemed like a good term to use for this coin.

Even with all of the circulation damage, you can still see it throughout the date too, in the same direction. Just MD ( Machine Doubling), common and of no added value.

Oh wow, it is hard to tell Machine Doubling to double die or rpm. Now I question all my coin finds as Machine Doubling lol (break my spirits lol). I will have to tell the kids we will be eating craft dinner for another year. All jokes aside I knew it was not a big money coin as it condition is poor but one never knows unless they ask.

I thought for sure there was separation between the letters like it was stamped or pressed over again. Still a good coin for my peanut collection.

Now that the coin is worth 10 cents how do I clean it so it looks nice?

I can see the Machine Doubling on the date, in particular the digit 3, but IMO this coin also contains an RPM for the mintmark. IMO S/S is most likely.
