This half dollar was minted under Public Law 101-406 and signed by President George H. Bush on Oct 3, 1990. The uncirculated version was sold encased in a cellophane wrapper. Mine is still in the wrapper but I'm contemplating freeing it and putting it in something more substantial. Opinions? It won't fit in the OGP box if I use a capsule.

This release has 3 coins in the set: Silver dollar, clad half dollar and a $5 gold piece (which I do not own). It can be purchased individually (as mine was apparently done) and both a 2-coin set and a 3-coin set.

My post on the silver dollar: http://goccf.com/t/452813

Commems contribution: http://goccf.com/t/352809&whichpage=85#3536674. That post indicates the gold coin is a half eagle. Neither andbook nor Guide[/i] show it as a half eagle but perhaps I'm missing something. Remember my newbie status

Here's the gold coin from the three-coin set:

Five dollar gold coins are also referred to as "Half Eagles" - $10 coins = "Eagle", $20 coins = "Double Eagle."
