Keep checking the Australia Post website as they keep putting them up random. I phoned friends last week when I seen them available and they managed to get a set each. They only stay up for about 5 minutes then dissapear again.

Ballot not happening until the New Year https://www.facebook.com/RoyalAustralianMint/From the RAM facebook page. Good morning everyone, Just a friendly reminder that this is our only official Facebook page. If you receive an email from us, it will come from donotreply @ ramint.gov.au no other email address. We have not run the ballot yet for the 35th Anniversary of the Two Dollar Coin Collection, so if you receive anything regarding entering or winning this, it is not from us. We strongly recommend not replying/entering in any ballot until we release our official information in the New Year.

O.K got the email from RAM today about the upcoming ballot. Wednesday 17/1/24. Surely not every new coin will be by ballot now?

Our local post office still has a set sitting in the cabinet. Been there for over a week so the excitment must of wore off this set.

If this ballot system actually works then it might be a good thing that all future releases are conducted using it. If the bots and unscrupulous dealers are thwarted by it then that has to be a good thing. It would also be really good to see those ebay sellers who seem to get early access to each new release get stopped too. It's going to be interesting to watch and see what happens. Popcorn at the ready

Quote: Our local post office still has a set sitting in the cabinet. My local post office which services around 35,000 people has not stocked any. Quote: If this ballot system actually works then it might be a good thing that all future releases are conducted using it. The EQL ballot system worked in my favour when frustrated with all other coin dealer websites on release day, only option for me was to register with EQL through the Wynyards ballot using this company on the day. Lucky for me I was a ballot winner and will try my luck again through the RAM ballot as well. Quote: Been there for over a week so the excitment must of wore off this set. Not for me, . Even if I miss out this time I have no qualms about continuing using a ballot system, much fairer IMHO.

Quote: Surely not every new coin will be by ballot now? 'Not all future collectable coins will be sold through the ballot system, which also only applies to online orders, RAM said. Aussies will still be able to buy coins in person at the mint, over the phone and through registered agents.' https://www.news.com.au/finance/mon...9edb673cb7b7

Luck was on my side today as I am a ballot winner of this set. Was getting coins to noodle at the bank and my balance was down a couple of hundred dollars ,then I knew I must have been a ballot winner. Confirmed by email when I got home.

Congratulations crab eater, kicked two goals! Sounds like the ballot system works smoothly and without all the stress of waiting in line or phoning repeatedly. Good on the Mint for finally adopting a ballot system too. Hope future releases will be as easy and stress-free too.
