Girlinlove Valued Member United States 323 Posts	Posted 11/13/2024 11:58 pm For some odd reason I have a lot of 1999 pennies lol one that looks almost brand new! Anywho! This particular 1999 D penny has an error that I don't know ow what it's called..... On the obverse around the letter R...what causes it and what's it called? And both Ts in TRUST...I really don't know why the holes are there on just those 2 Ts...corrosion? Just those 2 spots? The line under his ear extending to face is just PMD correct? Look for Wide AM on 1999. The coin posted is a Close AM. On a wide, there will be a space between the M and the bottom of the A in America. Report this Post to the Staff

I know about the Wide AM and Close AM.... but don't remember mentioning it...did I? LOL been a long day lol I unfortunately don't have one. Or the right 1992 either. But anywho. Dearborn Moderator United States 97793 Posts	Posted 11/14/2024 08:09 am Plating issues on Zinc coins is a real problem to Lincoln Cent coins. the zinc planchet can start rotting out and cause the copper plating to nit stay in place anymore and will bubble up. As the Zinc corrodes it expands, just like a steel rebar in concrete will and crack the cement out... Collecting since 1972. Learning from then on "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember.
