It appears to be the start of tarnish / toning, halfamind. When I pulled the set out of my storage area, to the naked eye the Gibson just looks different from the other four in the mint holder. Tried to capture the difference with the camera phone photos I posted. I expect we'll learn more in the days to come.

@cptbilly — thanks for the quick reply.
Those of you with unblemished sets might have something special if they have to recall, destroy, and re-issue.

Quote:Looks like all traces of the 2025 Silver Proof set have been removed from the product catalog and the list of 2025 releases: https://www.usmint.gov/coins/coin-sets/proof-sets/ Yeah it's not listed on that page but neither is the 2005 Proof Set because neither is currently available. If go to the 2025 product release schedule page and take the time to load more, load more, load more, etc., they are both there and are listed as "Currrenly Unavailable" when you click into them.

My coins look fine. They are already in the appropriate Dansco albums and I hope I would have noticed a problem when transferring them. Even if I noticed a problem now, I would not want to pull them out and put them back into the lenses.

Coin News reported debut sales of the 2025 Silver Proof Sets was at the lowest point in 18 years: https://www.coinnews.net/2025/08/13...t-at-120807/The chart seen at the link indicates a huge decline in sales once the set cost passed the century mark.

Evidence suggesting that this price is not what the market can bear.

The mint finally fixed my loyalty program shipping. I was going to order the silver proof sets and saw they are not available.

Anyone heard anything about these being put back on sale again?
It's been 3 months since they pulled them.
