I am looking for a small amount of reusable desiccant for a smallish home safe, but can only find them in aluminum canisters. What I would like to know is if any of the various coin metals would react adversely to being in close proximity with aluminum. Your experience with this would be most appreciated.
Thank you. I saw the Air-Tites site. The small packets would be fine, except they are not reusable. The smallest reusable comes in an aluminum canister. So, the question remains: would the aluminum affect any of the coin metals merely by being enclosed in the same small safe? Thanks in advance.
"Close proximity" between aluminium and coinage metals (gold, silver, copper, nickel, etc) will be harmless. Actual contact could cause contact corrosion over a very prolonged period.

Thanks John1. The plastic casing serves to ease my apprehensions, and the $7.50 price isn't bad. However, the $10.50 shipping loses my business. Perhaps I can find that one other sites with reasonable shipping. But I appreciate the link.
Remember some plastics are not good for coins so check into that too before buying, the same goes for the ones made from cardboard. All of those will out gas chemicals that might negatively effect coins. I suggest you try your best to find one where the canister is made of glass. John1
