What with gold now over $4000/ounce (as of the morning of October 8) and silver at $49.36 at the time I write this, do you think silver is finally ready to hit $50 for the first time ever?*
I'm not saying it's going to happen today (although it might), but I am definitely thinking this is the week it will happen.
Anybody else willing to go out on this particular limb with me?
Milestones:
Passed $050—10/09/2025 Passed $060—12/09/2025 Passed $070—12/23/2025 Passed $080—12/28/2025 Passed $090—01/14/2026 Passed $100—01/23/2026 Passed $110—01/26/2026 Passed $120—01/29/2026 Passed $130—?
* And, yes -- I am well aware that, due to inflation and the devalulation of the dollar, the price of silver back in 1980 and even 2011 was much higher than $50 in today's dollars, so there's no need to belabor that point.

Yes, I have thought it would for a few months now. Thinking hard about unloading some Morgans.

For a few years now, my gut-feeling was that silver was on its way to new ATH's. I've been accumulating silver lots here & there in anticipation of said scenario. I think the price goes over $50 before months end.

I learned my lesson with gold. My answer is yes, before the month ends.

Not choosing to speculate. Weird things happening. About to see Alaska opened up to mining which means more precious metals for the market.
NOT being political by naming sides.
I have made money before knowing when one party is in power, PMs always go up as a safe haven for businessmen fearing the coming economic downturn.
At present PMS are going up and it's not due to that same cause (opposite party in control). This is the first time I have seen this and I am 63.
Obviously I do not have the knowledge to know what is really happening so do not speculate.

All right, so maybe not today. But perhaps in overnight trading? We'll see...

What would the 1980's price be now? I remember the Hunt brothers buying up all the silver.
