It is my belief that reporting thread for the junk silver prices that members of this forum see would be an useful asset to all.

Currently I'm seeing two local shops charging 13x face and one local shop at 12.5x face. Average stuff mostly heavily worn Walkers, Franklins, kennedys, Washington quarters, Mercs, & Roosies for that price.

Last time I bought some junk silver I paid the equivalent of $45 for 4 US silver dollars, that's $11.25 a piece. For that junk silver price I get essentially any junk silver avalible, commemorative coins, world coins, domestic, US, Canadian, whatever's in stock. This is from my favourite coin shop, don't know if there are any other shops here in Stockholm that deal with junk silver.

12.5X for junk dimes and quarters; mostly Roosevelts, Mercs and Washingtons with the occasional very worn Barber.
13X for Kennedys, Franks and Walkers.
$17 for bucket Morgans and Peace dollars. Common dates up to XF with an AU in there every now and again

I only buy World and U.S junk silver at well below whatever the current ASW spot silver price may be.
That is why my silver stash is growing so slowly.

Well just bout $6.30 worth of junk silver (4 walkers, 12 standing liberties, 13 merc/barber dimes) for $43.16. Comes out to $6.85 per dollar. O.o usually though they charge around 10x face at the moment they go by weight and spot price. Actually really nice I go there very often now.

Mister Kairu,

Whoa I think I'd be a very frequent visitor to that shop. In my opinion they are leaving some money on the table.

If I were Mister I would be buying all they had and flipping that for a profit at pretty much any other shop.

Yeah I go multiple times a week. Honestly I think that pricing was a holiday gesture though they have a very family-like atmosphere people are there all the time just hanging out. Otherwise it is weighed and then x spot price

I saw 14X face at a local pawn shop for quality 90% yesterday. They were Washingtons and Roosevelts that appeared XF/AU and lusterous at a glance. I thought that was a little high but not out of line these days.

I've seen the range here locally from 12 to 16 per dollar face. Morgans and Peace dollars from $17 to 25+++ for common/worn coins.

Junk silver is currently 12x face at my local coin store.

Usually there are varying numbers of Mercury dimes, Roosevelt dimes, Washington quarters, Franklin Half-Dollars, and 1964 Kennedy Half-Dollars to choose from. There are also plenty of 35% silver nickels and 40% silver half-dollars, although the prices of these coins are constantly changing.

There are almost never any Standing Liberty quarters, Walking Liberty Half-Dollars, or Barber coinage in the junk silver bin.

Not sure it's a deal compared to what the rest of you pay... Lowest I've found local was 13x.. Now it's 14x.... Good quality with variety.

But APMEX has q current deal that I think is only for today... $119 for $10FV.. $124 if you use credit card... Free shipping. I'm trying hard not to order it...
