If I had to guess what I thought happened to this coin: it was soldered as jewellery or otherwise mounted onto something. This attachment was then removed with such force that a piece of the coin tore away - in effect, an artificial delamination. The gouge marks we're seeing at 1 and 3 o'clock are from whatever tool was used to wedge underneath the coin to prise it away.
